E Governance projects

Various E-governance projects aimed at leveraging digital technologies to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in government operations and services have been taken up by the unit. These initiatives include systems for digital payment platforms, and data-driven decision-making tools to improve citizen engagement and administrative processes. The Smart Garbage Monitoring System (SGMS) implemented by KELTRON focuses on improving waste management efficiency through technology.

Safe Kerala Project

The Fully Automated Traffic Enforcement System under the Safe Kerala Project was conceived by Keltron for the Kerala Motor Vehicles Department in 2019 with an aim to reduce the number fatalities in road accidents all over Kerala. The project involved the establishment of district control rooms all over Kerala, installation of fully automated enforcement devices based on AI, providing IT equipment like laptops for enforcement officers and the establishment of a master control room and datacentre for storage of enforcement data. A total of 726 enforcement systems have been functional under 14 district control rooms and the project and has been operational since 2023. During the first year of operations itself a 10% reduction in fatalities have been achieved in the state, mainly as an effect of implementation of the project.
