Our Founder Chairman
Shri K.P.P. Nambiar played a significant role in advancing India's electronics and telecommunications sectors. Beginning his career as a C.S.I.R officer, he later contributed to establishing the first communication crystals factory in India at Bharat Electronics Limited. His leadership at companies like NELCO and Indian Telephone Industries Limited led to the introduction of innovative products such as silicon transistor radios and electronic clocks. As Chairman of Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation Limited, he promoted electronics manufacturing and research, notablysetting up all the 8 production centres of Keltron Group, the first Colour TV in the Country and founding Techno Park in Thiruvananthapuram. Despite health challenges, Nambiar's entrepreneurial ventures, like Namtech Electronic Devices Limited, showcased his commitment to technological excellence. His legacy as a pioneer and innovator continues to inspire the Indian electronics industry.

Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (KELTRON) has a rich history that spans several decades.
Foundation and Early Years (1970s-1980s)
KELTRON was established in 1973 as a fully owned between the Government of Kerala and the Government of India, with the aim of promoting the electronics industry in the state. In its early years, KELTRON focused on manufacturing electronic components, such as capacitors, and equipment like CRT-based television sets and radios. Keltron was the first to make colour TV in India and launched prior the Abid 1982. The company expanded during this period various fields like pneumatics, control and Instrumentation, manufacture of Telephone Exchanges etc.The company played a crucial role in laying the foundation for the electronics industry in Kerala and provided employment opportunities for skilled workers in the region.
