Key functions of Keltron BMS for LiFePO4 cells include:

  • Cell Monitoring : The BMS continuously monitors the voltage, current, and temperature of each individual cell within the battery pack. This ensures that cells operate within their safe limits and identifies any potential failures or imbalances.
  • Balancing: To maintain the health and longevity of the battery pack, the BMS ensures that all cells remain balanced in terms of charge. Cell balancing prevents undercharging or overcharging of individual cells, which can lead to reduced capacity or damage over time.
  • Overcharge/Over-discharge Protection: LiFePO4 cells have strict voltage limits, and the BMS prevents overcharging (which can lead to overheating or swelling) and over-discharging (which can cause cell degradation or failure). The BMS ensures the voltage remains within the recommended range


  • Thermal Management: Temperature control is vital for maintaining the safety of LiFePO4 batteries. The BMS monitors the temperature of the battery pack and can adjust power usage or trigger cooling systems to prevent overheating.
  • State of Charge (SOC) Estimation: The BMS calculates the State of Charge, providing an accurate indication of the remaining battery capacity. This helps users manage power usage and avoid running out of battery unexpectedly.
  • Fault Detection and Reporting: In case of any abnormalities like short circuits, voltage irregularities, or excessive temperatures, the BMS can disconnect the battery to prevent damage and alert the user.
  • Connectivity: KELTRON BMS has various connectivity features included such as Bluetooth and Android application for battery’s health monitoring, Graphical LCD interface for real time information to user, IoT connectivity for remote logging and monitoring etc
